The yahoo ads are gone. They were kinda nice at first, they offer a lot higher pay per click then yahoo ads do but that leveled quickly. They just do not have the advertising base that Google does so their ads are usually totally irreverent to the webpage content. To seal the deal on my anecdotal experience yahoo! also recently during a business meeting announced a large drop in advertisers, so I didn’t see the program getting any better. But hey it was beta, I gave it a chance. One major feature I really did like on Yahoo ads was RSS feed ads which are currently not available on Google adsense. But the point is still kinda moot, for both of these services you have to earn over $100.00 bucks before they cut you a check, I don’t think I have over $25 with both of them combined.
I did put up some Amazon book links on the sidebar, I have had OK luck with Amazon referrals (still not enough to actual see any reward yet) and I like to share my reading lists. I have found some great books from other blog authors I read. I think I will also do this years holiday gift list in the new personalized amazon store format.
Links to REI and a few other gear shops maybe coming up soon. This is through a service I found called commission junction which offers pretty good referral rates and selected advertising as opposed to a computer making a educated guess. Plus this allows me to only post up ads for stores and services I personally use and like as opposed to god knows what.
I have about 5-6 months left of hosting on DreamHost, they offer great rates and a really nice admin interface but there up time STINKS and even running minor blogs I find this greatly annoying. So if you know of a host that allows for multiple domains per account at a good price with a nice interface please let me know.
As I have stated before my goal or more like hobby would to make this blog and my other projects be self sufficient.
I have also started another more tech related blog called Getting Nothing Done. This blog is focused around productivity, lifehacks, web20, tech, finances, and the theories of Getting Things Done and Your Money or Your Life.

Bluehost.com offers multiple domains and friendly service.
Up time was inconsistent last year but in recent months has been near 100%.
Go through a friend and they will get something like $60 referral.
