I am currently have a great deal of problems with TypePad. I started this blog and not long after my student organization was looking for a web presence so I suggested TypePad. We set up the account and everyone was very happy with how it looked and how easily non-computer people could make blog entries.
TypePad was running a deal where if you purchased one year pro-access you could get another years pro-access on another account. It said nothing that both accounts had to be new, nor did it list a cash value for the gift certificate. The gift certificate actually says:
"Below is your gift certificate for one year of TypePad Pro service. With TypePad you can create full-featured weblogs easily. You will be able to publish photo albums, create lists of your favorite book or music, and easily customize the design and layout of your weblog."
So I spent the $150 bucks for the TypePad Pro account and personally donated the gift certificate to my non-profit social worker organization. Well we had a bunch of hassle with getting it working and now, they are trying to force that the gift certificate is only worth $99 bucks and not a Pro account for a year. Well my organization was depending on this gift because they do not have any more money to pay the difference for the account.
So that is where I am at. TypePad keeps copying and pasting that the gift certificate is only worth $99, despite the webpages and the certificate itself say nothing like that.
SO PLEASE POINT YOUR LINKS AND BOOKMARKS TO
I own the domain and if my Typepad goes down it will be back up at a new location ASAP. And please wish me luck with TypePad. I would be grateful for anyone to link this story to maybe put some pressure on Typepad because I think they are just going to bully me out of this problem.
