Sportline is making a new water bottle dubbed the HydraCoach that will take your personal information and “Automatically calculates a recommended daily Personal Hydration Goal.” The water bottle will also keep track of daily fluid intake, fluid consumed per drink and has a built in clock to calculate average intake per hour and meet daily fluid intake goals. All of this information on a digital read out.
The first model looks strictly like a day hike, home, and work out water bottle. But it looks like this technology could easy be modify into a platy hose for hiker use. I also hope that the personal hydration goals can be modified for activity (such as hiking to running to nothing) and also for the environment such as dry or very hot climates.
One problem though due to our state of over paranoia good luck getting a digital water bottle on a plane.
